Georgian Motel and Restaurant

Folkston, Georgia - 1960's I believe

Hey, dreary weather won't keep the Georgian down! You say a storm's blowin' in? Who cares...take the dang shot! We'll use it anyway.

jeez, do they think they could have gotten a far enough away shot? One can barely read the sign! If you squint, you can sorta make out the building itself. They obviously had to bring focus to their best feature...their lovely tended flowers.

I shit my pants when I found this blog through your Old Haunts blog. This is exactly the kind of stuff I obsess over. In fact, as a young girl I made a list of my all time favorite motels/hotels, especially favoring the decerpit ones. Thank you for this splendid blog!!

Hey thanks, Domenica! Glad to have ya! So cool to know other people out there share my strange obsessions, too. :)

Domenica and Keith...good to be in the company of friends! I've always had a strange fascination with the decrepit and the obsolete. I always thought I was the only one, but it's a real treasure to find websites like this one. :)

As a kid in the 70's I use to ride the Grayhound bus past this motel every summer on my way to Augusta GA up US1.
