Did you see the movie called "Motel Hell"? This room looks like the same room they filmed in the movie.

I've stayed in motels that look just like that-but not in Rhinelander. Northern Michigan is full of them.
Great website. And it's the first blog I've seen which features Rhinelander. Pine and all.

I too, have stayed in many Up North rooms very similar to this one. I personally am fond of this one, reminds me of my childhood vacations.

really, I don't see what is so terrible about this motel room, nor yet any of the other motels you've chosen to document here.
Yes, their styles are outdated - but if you walked into a room with identical decor, would you not see it as a object d'art?
The grossest thing here is the picture of the 1964 McDonalds fillet o fish sandwich - but then again, anything from McDonalds, in 1964 or 2007, is pretty gross...
I love your sites! We once traveled Route 66 just to stay at the little motels...it was fabulous.
